On New Year’s Eve you should have an opportunity to get dressed in your best, eat a sumptuous meal, savor unparalleled wine, and then dance the night away.
If that sounds like a treat of a New Year’s Eve to you, then by all means, make reservations to attend AVA’s Black and White Ball on December 31. (Reservations: 540.886.2851.)
Beginning at 8pm, we’re hosting an old-school, leisurely, six-course dinner with optional wine-pairings ($85/$30), and then at 10pm, we’re pushing back the tables, opening up the floor, letting the DJ loose, and dancing the night away right into 2016! ($10 cover at 10pm.)
Come dressed in black and white to eat and dance, or come just to eat, or come just to dance — we’re doing it all!
But first things first: it’s good to eat a hearty meal if you’re going to do all those fancy dance moves!
Here’s our black and white menu and optional wine pairings for the night:
Duo of Soups: Cauliflower and Black Bean. Wine: Wild Horse Unbridled Chardonnay.
Hearts of Palm Risotto with shave black truffle. Wine: Dedicato Prosecco.
Crab Ravioli with black garlic cream sauce. Wine: Ferrari-Canaro Fumé Blanc.
Squid Ink Pasta with Scallops. Wine: TBA (we’ll surprise you!)
Blackened Filet with Duchess Potatoes and Black Rice. Wine: Sanctuary Cabernet Sauvignon.
Blackberry/dark chocolate torte with whipped cream and black and white cookies. Wine: Susann Balboa Late Harvest Malbec Reserva dessert wine.
You’ll also enjoy a glass of French Sparkling wine to toast at midnight!
Auld lang syne
What’s great about first feasting here and then dancing here is that you can get your whole party on and still be in walking distance of several local stays. Consult the Staunton Tourism Website for plenty of local hotels to book New Year’s Eve hotel reservations in walkable downtown.
And, remember to drink responsibly. Either designate a driver, or be prepared to take a cab.
Whatever your mode of celebration — just dinner, dinner and dancing, just drinks, drinks and dancing, just dancing — let it be uniquely you with uniquely us!
And whatever you do, Have a Happy and safe New Year!
